This Bill is designed to strengthen New Zealand’s ability to identify and deter foreign interference by ensuring that political influence activities directed by foreign principals are publicly declared, visible, and subject to compliance enforcement.
The Bill seeks to balance transparency and security with protections for legitimate activity through exemptions, withholding provisions, and review rights.
