Announcing the Launch of PILLAR – Protecting Individual Life, Liberty, and Rights

PILLAR is a New Zealand–based civil liberties powerhouse with a vision for a culture that cherishes freedom, a system that prioritises liberty, and a people who recognise the innate value and dignity of one another. Our mission is simple: we stand firm so every New Zealander can stand free.

“We fight for individual liberty by restoring and strengthening the pillars of democracy – freedom of conscience, thought and inquiry, speech, religion, association and assembly, and the right to privacy – through courtroom action, legislative reform, public campaigns, and community mobilisation,” says Executive Director Nathan Seiuli.

“Around the globe, we are witnessing a serious decline in nations that for decades led the way on freedom and liberty. The inability to have difficult conversations, explore unpopular or controversial ideas, growing government overreach, foreign interference, and a diminished regard for individual life are causing deep divisions and pushing democracy and civli liberty backwards.”

“PILLAR is not a think tank or a partisan advocacy group. PILLAR is a principle-first, frontline, rapid-response movement dedicated to Protecting Individual Life, Liberty, and Rights.”

“While some grant rights based on who you are, where you live, who your ancestors were, or when you happen to exist, I see them as immutable, irrecoverable gifts imbued in every individual in light of the imago Dei,” remarked Seiuli.

“We are excited to get stuck into major issues, push for real change, and serve the individuals who call New Zealand home. And hopefully, they will join us in the fight to make New Zealand the freest nation in the world.”
