OUR WORK.

PILLAR exists to ensure that Kiwis are not silenced, intimidated, or sidelined in the name of conformity. We fight for those whose rights are under attack—and we do it through four work streams: Stand, Shift, Speak, and Strengthen.

We’re building a movement rooted in principle, powered by courage, and equipped for the long fight. Together, we can protect what matters most—not just for today, but for generations to come.

  • STAND

In today's climate, the process is often the punishment. Reputational ruin, financial stress, and institutional intimidation can coerce people into silence or compliance—long before they see a courtroom or tribunal. Pillar provides direct support to individuals who are targeted for speaking up, standing out, or refusing to fall in line.

These cases are not rare anomalies. They’re warning signs—cracks in our democratic foundation—and they set dangerous precedents for the weaponisation of law, codes of conduct, and overreaching regulations. We fight for justice not just to help individuals—but to build better case law that protects all New Zealanders.

  • SHIFT

We don’t lead mobs—we mobilise movements. Our campaigns are strategic, principled, and data-informed. Cultural change doesn’t require a majority; research shows just 10% of the voting public can shift national consensus.

Our campaigns identify flashpoints where freedom is under threat, engage the public in meaningful action, and apply pressure through media, consultation, and political advocacy. Cases are where we react. Campaigns are how we shape the future.

  • SPEAK

Courtroom wins are vital—but we’re also fighting in the court of public opinion. Our content cuts through the noise to educate, inspire, and empower. Through videos, podcasts, op-eds, public tours, and digital campaigns, we change and lead the narrative around free speech, civil liberties, and democratic responsibility.

We give people the tools and vocabulary to articulate their beliefs, challenge bad ideas, and advance meaningful debate—not cancel it.

  • STRENGTHEN

Changing laws may protect freedom today. Changing culture protects it tomorrow. Our Coaching work stream invests in long-term transformation by educating the next generation of leaders, thinkers, and advocates.

We equip everyday people—especially young New Zealanders—with a deep understanding of their rights and the tools to uphold them. Through coaching, we cultivate a culture of resilience, responsibility, and democratic engagement.
